Firstly, Pear Distribution recently completed the successful delivery of 1.5 million recycling bags to the entire Blaenau Gwent council area in just over three weeks. This represented a great effort from our distribution team as the company embraces the distribution of new products alongside the magazines, leaflets, brochures, catalogues and flyers that we are well known for.

Meanwhile, Pear Distribution is currently delivering Christmas gift catalogues door-to-door for Leekes, and we are delighted to continue our work for such a highly respected and recognised Welsh brand.

An interesting point of note to all our customers is that we have recently introduced new marketing services, namely large scale printing for posters, banners, signage and van livery, as well as design for marketing materials. If you want to know more the please call us anytime.

Due to our sustained and significant growth we will soon be moving to a larger warehouse and offices just around the corner from our current premises at the Vale Business Park. Starting in November, the move will take approximately two months, with the new premises offering vastly increased storage space for warehousing as we continue to distribute over 1 million units per month.

This Saturday Pear will be running a South Wales Tourism Promotions event outside the newly refurbished Sainsbury’s in Tenby, which will be a welcome end-of-season push for our tourism customers. Coinciding with the half-term school holiday, the event will see our promotions team giving out free goody bags containing tourist attraction marketing materials and Pear Publishing magazines, amongst other things.

We are delighted to announce that after the successful re-launch of Chapter magazine – the official publication of the Cardiff based exhibition, performance and film venue – Pear will be distributing the magazine throughout Wales at new bespoke media stands we have created for Chapter.

Finally, with British motor sport on the up at the moment Pear decided to sponsor Gareth Thomas at the Club 100 National Carting race in Llandow recently.

It was an excellent weekend for Pear at the Abergavenny Food Festival.

Pear had arranged for various clients to distribute leaflets and brochures Hand2Hand to visitors at the food festivals. Clients having literature distributed included Cardiff Castle Cheese Festival, St Davids Hall, Sherman Theatre, Penderyn Whisky, Carmarthenshire Tourism and the Wales Millennium Centre. As visitors to the festival will know, it was nothing short of packed! 26,000 leaflets and brochures were distributed direct to the hands of festival goers and the response from them was excellent. Pear will continue to provide and expand its Hand2Hand and event services as they play a key role in marketing services and products. The new brand was developed over a 6 week period between the all the relevant departments and was headed up by Director Ed Pereira. The stands will form the centre piece of a new campaign being conducted by Pear Media, aimed at raising awareness of the scope and abilities available within the Pear Media organisation.

We don’t need to tell you how busy Ikea is and that it is almost a tourist attraction in its own right!

Also, last year Pear distributed thousands of leaflets at both the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Show and the Abergavenny Food Festival. We had a fantastic response from the public at both these events, as they were eager to learn more about tourist attractions and events throughout Wales. Although the weather last year was far from great (especially at the Pembrokeshire Show!) we were able to distribute thousands of goody-bags with a selection of different leaflets, which our staff handed out personally to visitors at these events. As well as providing this Hand2Hand distribution, we also took along our attractive leaflet display stands in which to display the leaflets in.

As this was such a big success, we are planning on doing exactly the same this year. We will be, once again, taking our leaflet display stands as well as handing out goody-bags.

This year the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Show lands on the 18th, 19th and 20th of August and over 100,000 guests are expected to attend. We will also be at the incredibly popular Abergavenny Food Festival which will take place on the 19th and 20th of September.

Continuing Pear’s incredible growth over the last year, Pear has invested a huge amount of money on new stands and racking to attractively display tourism & events leaflets and brochures. These new sites showcase the high quality outlets that Pear has access to and, with a high footfall of both locals and tourists, they are a welcome addition to our ever increasing outlet network.

As from the 17th July, Pear will have exclusive access to the Welcome Break Service Stations in Wales. With a weekly footfall of approx 15,000 visitors per Service Station, these outlets are an essential distribution point for tourism related leaflets and brochures. As the kids break up for school holidays on the 17th July, this is a perfect opportunity to attract holiday makers by displaying at these sites. Large floor standing stands have been produced to effectively display all the literature and will be placed in the most visible areas within the service stations. Pear is the only distribution company who can effectively distribute literature throughout South & Mid Wales. Not only is our coverage unsurpassed, but also the quality of our outlets; this month alone Pear has placed new floor standing stands in probably the two busiest locations in Bridgend… Tesco Extra and Sainburys! Pear has also placed a large stand in Tesco Extra Haverfordwest and was also responsible for the refit of Mermaid Quay’s (Cardiff Bay) new Tourism Information Point. With its mix of entertainment, food and retail outlets, Mermaid Quay attracts a vast number of visitors, so this new Info Point is an essential site for visitors to Cardiff Bay.

The Directors at Pear are renowned for not being able to swim for toffee, but that does not stop us from enjoying the fun that can be had from water based activities! Boat excursions, fishing, kite surfing and the increasingly popular coasteering are just some of the many activities associated with water. These activities and services all play a crucial role in making Pembrokeshire a top visitor destination and the Awards are an excellent way to recognise this.

Pear is also delighted to announce that they have successfully won the contract to distribute Bluestone / Blue Lagoon brochures throughout Pembrokeshire, South Wales and the West. Director Ivonne Pereira, “This is a very important contract to us as Bluestone is an unique and prestigious business in the area. Bluestone generates a lot of revenue for Pembrokeshire and attracts a multitude of visitors. The work they have done up to now has been phenomenal and they have sourced some excellent sites with their eye-catching stands. It is our intention now to use their established network and add on our extensive outlet network to massively increase the coverage of Blue Lagoon and Bluestone brochures throughout our catchment area, whilst ensuring that their stands are well maintained. Our exclusive sites will also play a critical role in their distribution accessing high quality potential visitors.”
